Jennifer Lopez's Guide to Glowing Skin

Jennifer Lopez is a true icon. From her chart-topping hits to her beloved rom-com roles, the multi-hyphenate star has been one of Hollywood’s most influential performers for over three decades. The 53-year-old star is also a style icon, complementing her fierce fashion with bombshell hair, killer manicures, and—of course—that famously enviable glow. With the launch of her line "JLo Beauty", and today’s edition of Vogue Beauty Secrets, Lopez is finally sharing the secrets behind the latter. From her lit-from-within skin care to her brilliant contouring strategy, the actor, singer, and entrepreneur walks us through her beauty routine.

Once her intentions are set, she begins. “I’ve always had a very simple skin-care routine, and JLo Beauty was very much about that,” she explains while lathering on the line’s silky gel crème cleanser. Inside her collection, you’ll find all the makings of radiant skin, from a firming booty balm to a brightening and hydrating serum. Along with a good night’s sleep, the star counts daily sunscreen wear as a non-negotiable to maintain her youthful complexion—massaging in her brand’s SPF-infused moisturizer ahead of lip balm and JLo Beauty eye cream. “The truth is if you start young, it will make a huge difference,” Lopez says. Her other secret to looking and feeling good? She prioritizes rest and happiness. “Because you can put on all the makeup in the world, [but] if you’re unhappy, if your skin’s not healthy…you can’t cover it up,” she says before moving on to makeup.

Glam begins with concealer, Lopez using a NARS formula around the face as needed, before going in with YSL Beauty’s Touche Éclat pen on the under-eye area. To contour, Lopez buffs in Bobbi Brown’s creamy pigment atop her cheekbones for a lifting effect, as well as her forehead, jawline, and the “lightbulb” beneath her chin.

Then, after giving her nose and lips a sculpting treatment, she blends in three different shades of Chanel’s sought-after foundation for an imperceptible finish. She then defines her eyes with a smudge of liner and a subtle wash of smoky eyeshadow. As for lips, a brown Make Up For Ever pencil is her liner of choice, followed by a slick of Fenty Beauty’s glimmering gloss.
